Outdoor Performance Test Platform

ODTÜ-GÜNAM has 24 panel test beds to determine the short- and long-term outdoor performance of photovoltaic panels. Since 2012, many different panel technologies (Mono-Si, Poly-Si, a-Si, HJT, CIS, IBC, CdTe, etc.) have been tested on this platform.

The platform also has 10 grid-connected photovoltaic system test beds to determine short- and long-term system performance, a meteorological station, and various sensors (pyranometer, pyrheliometer, etc.) to measure environmental conditions. Using the ISOS O1, O2 and O3 protocols, measurements can also be made for technologies such as perovskite that do not yet have an established performance-determination standard.

High-resolution cameras are periodically used to capture EL and thermal images of tested panels and systems. Performance data is obtained via I-V scanning at 10-minute intervals. The platform has a web interface providing online monitoring of measured performance and environmental data, with performance analyses carried out in line with the international IEC 61724-1 standard. New-technology mini-panels or panels developed within projects by national or international companies or research centers can also be tested here, under the same outdoor conditions.
