ODTÜ-GÜNAM Photovoltaic Pilot Line (GPVL)

With approximately 650 m² of production space and a capacity of 100 wafers per hour, the GPVL facility mainly produces industrial-size PERC/PERT/PERL, TOPCon and IBC silicon solar cells. GPVL operates as a fully integrated pilot production line, from silicon wafer to finished solar cell, flexible enough for both prototype production and advanced R&D projects.

The GPVL infrastructure can carry out every solar cell production step, from the silicon wafer onward, using different process techniques and flows — supporting both industrial R&D carried out with industrial equipment and cell production at a defined capacity based on demand.

Key equipment on the GPVL line includes: diffusion furnaces (for P- and N-type doping), atomic layer deposition (ALD) systems (for Al₂O₃ passivation of silicon surfaces), laser systems (picosecond lasers for surface processing and cutting), plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) systems (for high-quality thin-film coating), fully automatic screen printing and sintering systems (for metal contact printing and firing), and metallization systems supported by Ni/Cu/Ag electroplating technologies.
