Diversity and Inclusion

We see diversity as a source of strength and inclusion as a shared value.

Diversity is an umbrella term used to describe differences in gender, ethnicity, age, and other identities and forms of expression that extend beyond binary categories. Unfortunately, some of the sectors in which male employees continue to be disproportionately represented include information technology, engineering, medicine, and science.

ODTÜ-GÜNAM believes that diversity in the workplace means ensuring fair and consistent representation of women and men from different backgrounds and countries, while providing equal pay, equal working opportunities, and equal access to career advancement. At ODTÜ-GÜNAM, equal opportunity is based on professional background, qualifications, and technical competence. All staff members and stakeholders are encouraged to feel free to be themselves while treating others with respect.

As emphasized in global diversity practices, ODTÜ-GÜNAM embraces the following principle: openness to diversity broadens access to the best talent, while inclusion enables that talent to contribute effectively. Together, diversity and inclusion foster stronger innovation, creativity, productivity, reputation, engagement, and outcomes.
