Synthesis Laboratory

The synthesis laboratory has 7 fume hoods, each set up as a different station depending on the operations carried out. Equipment includes: 2 rotary evaporators (for removing organic solvents after reaction and purification), a purification unit, a reaction reactor with a 5-port vacuum manifold and hotplate stirrers for small- and medium-scale reactions, an automated column for purifying reaction products, a vacuum oven for solvent and polymer drying, a precision balance and automatic pellet-ice maker, a microwave system, a UV cabinet and lamp for monitoring reactions, a PARR apparatus for hydrogenation reactions, and a V10 unit for removing high-boiling-point solvents.

To increase the lab's efficiency, investment in a benchtop NMR and purification system and a multi-reactor is planned, along with an extruder for polymer development in module technology.
